World Wide Cookbook
So lately I feel like I have been kind of running out of fun things to do with my kids. I mean I have fun with my kids and no doubt with summer HOPEFULLY on it's way I will be able to think of more fun things. But I want to try something different and try and be somewhat educational at the same time.
Well for Mother's Day, which was awesome by the way except for the part that I had to talk in church, my children gave me this cookbook.
Well for Mother's Day, which was awesome by the way except for the part that I had to talk in church, my children gave me this cookbook.
It looks like so much fun. It has recipes in it from all over the world and I was thinking that it would be fun to try a lot of these. And then I thought of this movie...
Ever seen it? It's called Julia and Julie. It's a really cute movie you should watch it if you haven't. Anyways its about this girl that tries every single recipe in Julia Childs recipe book and then blogs about it. So without being able to think of any original ideas of my own, which is not surprising, I decided to try a new recipe from the worldwide cookbook everyday, or most everyday, and I am going to let my kids pick it out and we will make it together.
I realize that it may not happen everyday, that's why I said most everyday. And hopefully doesn't fizzle out, but I am pretty good at starting things and not finishing them. I know it's a lot of recipes but it will be fun to try. And I realize that my kids are going to pick a dessert every day so I am going to pick the section and then they are going to pick from that and we will do it a couple of days in advance. I hope that this will be really fun.
So today we made cookies. Six dollar cookies is what they were called. They were o.k. not the best cookie ever, but still pretty good.
Do you love the chocolate all over their faces!!!
Oh and by the way, just so you know, I will not be blogging about this everyday like in the movie. Trying to be a little realistic.
Tomorrow Strawberry Limeade. Yummy!
I am not looking forward to the fried tofu or the salmon head soup, but I guess it's all part of the fun. Trying new stuff right!
