Last Week

I have found some new cool apps for photos on my phone and I love it. Great way to download a lot of pictures without having to spend time downloading each one. Anyways last week we went to Great Grandmas house which is always a treat! In fact the week before I was putting Kyanna to be and she told me that she had a stomach ache, I told her to just go to bed and she would feel better. Then she told me it was because she was just so excited to go to Great Grandmas house that she thought she was going to cry!

It was  a great little vacation. Started out with the Richfield Invitational for swimming which was lots of fun. I love that William loves swimming. He loves it! This is why I love it....first it wears him out each day, second it's cheap, and third it's so great cause it's not about beating someone else it about beating your own time, which is what I have always loved about running.
Then we just hung around until the big 24th of July Celebration in Monroe. Always a highlight every year! This year William ran the one mile race and came in first place for his age group and 17 overall out of 85 kids some as old as 12 years old. Kyanna ran to she came in 80th place but she RAN the whole time which is a big accomplishment for her! Jenna slept through the whole thing. The highlight for Jenna was riding the horse....which is according to her "her best friend". It was a fun long weekend!

4th of July

It was an interesting 4th of fact the last two years have been kind of different for me. Last year I worked, this year I didn't work but it was a very very smoky day (cause of all the wildfires) and we didn't spend it with family. However we did spend it with some really good friends that have kind of become family to us :) In the morning we went to the Huntington Parade. I am telling you there is something about parades and small towns....they just go together really well. The kids had fun and we are still eating the candy.
That afternoon we had a bbq with some friends then went to the park. Fireworks were banned in Price this year cause of all the fires so they let people go to the park between 9:30 and 11:00 and light off all there fireworks. So since we aren't big fans of burning money we went to the park and watched everyone else do it. There were some pretty fancy fireworks too. We did do sparklers. The kids had fun!

This was our big firework display this year. This is the Seely fire coming over the mountain. It was fairly burned about 50,000 acres I believe. The weekend before we had a region fast for rain. And although it took a couple of weeks it has rained about 4 days in a row. Prayers are definitely answered and I am so happy to not be living in constant smoke anymore. Anyways it was a good holiday! Proud to be an American.

Happy Happy Birthday Kyanna Dear

I know I am a little late in posting this but Kyanna turned 6 a couple of weeks ago!!! I can't hardly believe it my kids are getting WAY to old. Oh Kyanna Kyanna what to say about this little girl. She is the jelly to my peanut butter, my rainbow after the rain, and my lemon to my water. What I mean is that she is just like me in so many ways, she always makes me happy, and she is not without a little sass!

For her birthday she wanted to have a party at the wave pool. So we invited four of her closest of her friends to swim. I can't believe what a great swimmer she has become! ( I am sure that it has nothing to do with the fact that we are at the wave pool every single day!). Last week she jumped off the diving board and swam to the side all by herself!!!

She got pink legos, a watch, some clothes, and a leapster i pad type thing. For dinner we went to the Asian Buffet (yuck!) but it was what she wanted.

Kyanna loves to read, loves Barbies, loves to swim, play with her friends. Her favorite T.v. show continues to be none of them since she does not watch t.v. at all! She loves ham sandwiches for lunch and toast for breakfast. She rides her bike everywhere she goes. Her favorite color is pink. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up :) she gets excited everytime she sees an ambulance! She does her own hair and wears skirts at every opportunity she can! Happy Birthday you!

Glenwood Springs

Last weekend we went to Glenwood Springs, Colorado for a little mini mini vacation. I was feeling sorry for myself cause I was babysitting ALOT (not that I mind, cause I don't) for moms who went to Girls Camp and then Brett went to Scout Camp for a week. And I was just home with the kids...... so we went for a fun weekend. It was lots of fun...and it is only 4 hours away. Part of the reason we also went is that I am going to be running a relay race in September in this area and wanted to check it out.

We got there Friday night the kids were so so so excited just to stay in a hotel room. Actually I think we could have just stayed in the hotel room and swam there and the kids would have been perfectly happy.

Anyways these pictures are kind of backwards. Sunday we went on a hike to a place called Hanging Lake it was a beautiful hike, very steep and maybe a little too hard for the kids but they did awesome!!! We just took lots of breaks.

Here is the whole fam almost to the top of the lake. They put a little railing at the very end of the hike cause it had such steep cliffs, other side of that railing is just straight down!
Made it too the lake! It was so pretty so so clear. it was really fun! That afternoon we also drove to Vail to check out that area.

On Saturday we went to the Springs and also to a Glenwood Canyon and went on a tour of the fairy caves. It was really really pretty. We were about 100 feet underground in this picture.

We got to take a tram ride to the top of the mountain to see the caves!

View from the caves.

It was a fun busy weekend.I didn't take any pictures of the springs, actually I kind of thought it was way overrated! We spent a lot of money to just go into a over crowded warm pool. The kids didn't even love swimming in it cause it was salt water. Next time we go we are river rafting! I love spending time with my little family.
