Happy 2nd Birthday Kyanna!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Kyanna! I can't believe that it has been two years since she joined our family. It has been so much fun! I love her beautiful smile and her fiery personality. Even at two she has no problems voicing her opinion! I love that she comes up to me all the time and gives me hugs and kisses. I love how she plays so well with her brother. And I also love having a girl, growing up with all brothers, it has been so much fun to finally have someone to play dolls with!

Five Years? Really!

So tomorrow is our anniversary. Yeah! Five years. But as I reflect on our last five years I can't help but notice that it feels like we have been married much longer than five years. But in a good way. Let me explain. Since June 25, 2003 I have graduated from nursing school. Brett has graduated from the University of Utah and from Eastern Oregon University with an MBA. We have had two children (which we almost had two children at 3 years of marriage. Yikes! Kyanna was born three days after). We have moved a total of 7 seven times. That's right you have read that correctly seven times, that's crazy, including moving to Oregon for school. And we have been far away as Germany, Belgium, Grand Caymans and Mexico. Anyways it sure feels like a lot to me! Maybe our next five years won't be quite as crazy, but then again maybe they will! It's all fun. But it has truly been an amazing five years, I am so lucky to be married to someone who loves and is so dedicated to me and his children. Works hard for us each and everyday. And is so much fun to be around. I love you honey!!

Trip to Oregon

Wow! It has been a super long time since I have updated my blog. We have been so busy. Not to mention the step down to dial-up Internet (ouch!) Yeah, that really hurts. Anyways we just got home from a really fun trip to Oregon. It was fun to go and visit Rob and Kristi and Ang and Dan. It was also fun to go visit our old apartment, go to the famous Hagens for candy, Trader Joes for the best Tomato soup ever, visit the very very windy beach, and eat lunch at our favorite restaurant along the Columbia Gorge. Also we went to the Enchanted Forest which we would always pass on our way down to visit family when we lived there but never actually went. It was great if you are between the ages of 3-8. So that meant that Will loved it. And mostly so did Kyanna, except for the scary parts of course.
We didn't make it to La Grande for Brett's graduation (we decided that it would be cheaper, less gas, and more fun if we spent that extra day in Eugene). But Rob, Kristi, Ang, and Dan gave Brett an awesome graduation (which I will have to post later) which was much more entertaining than the real thing I am sure and better on the kids and me!
All in all it was a great trip and I think we were spoiled by the 70 degree weather, because it was hot hot hot when we came back. Our house was 93 degree when we came home at 9:00 Wednesday night!

Pony Express Days

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Eagle Mountain with Brett and the kids and my good friend, Jill and her kids. Will had tons of fun going on all the rides. His favorite was the Ferris wheel, which unfortunately meant that he needed to go with me. Now I usually don't have a problem with heights, but throw in some really large gusts of wind, and I start to get a little nervous. Oh the things we do for our kids! Kyanna, of course, in true Kyanna fashion hated all the rides, except for the boat ride. For some reason she loved that ride. Maybe because it didn't go up in the air and it moved about as fast as a turtle!

WARNING: Information about Cell Phone use and Children!

I sometimes let Kyanna play with my cell phone, mostly because she really only calls Brett and it keeps her entertained for a long time. It's very cute. Well last month our bill was $10 over. So Brett was looking at the phone calls made and noticed that there was three phones made to Indonesia at 2:42 p.m., 2:43 p.m., and 2:45 p.m. Luckily they were very short and luckily they only cost us $10 it could have been much worse. So I guess that Kyanna is done playing with the cell phone. I am not sure we can take a risk like that again.
