4th of July

It was an interesting 4th of July....in fact the last two years have been kind of different for me. Last year I worked, this year I didn't work but it was a very very smoky day (cause of all the wildfires) and we didn't spend it with family. However we did spend it with some really good friends that have kind of become family to us :) In the morning we went to the Huntington Parade. I am telling you there is something about parades and small towns....they just go together really well. The kids had fun and we are still eating the candy.
That afternoon we had a bbq with some friends then went to the park. Fireworks were banned in Price this year cause of all the fires so they let people go to the park between 9:30 and 11:00 and light off all there fireworks. So since we aren't big fans of burning money we went to the park and watched everyone else do it. There were some pretty fancy fireworks too. We did do sparklers. The kids had fun!

This was our big firework display this year. This is the Seely fire coming over the mountain. It was fairly spectacular....it burned about 50,000 acres I believe. The weekend before we had a region fast for rain. And although it took a couple of weeks it has rained about 4 days in a row. Prayers are definitely answered and I am so happy to not be living in constant smoke anymore. Anyways it was a good holiday! Proud to be an American.
