I'm Savin My Money

Thats IT! I am saving my money. I am sick and tired of looking at every ones blogs and there amazing photos. Now I am sure that most people have the talent that I lack, but there has got to be something said about having a nice camera and I want one! I am tired of trying to take a picture of the kids and by the time the flash works they are completely out of the picture. I am tired of it looking blurry, and so on. So I am saving my money.

Good for you! Joe and I are doing the same thing. I think I know who;s blog you are talking about, and I always call her to just pop by my house because she had a better camera. I am sick of bugging her.

It's 100% worth it.

Trevor and I came to that conclusion pretty much the minute Afton was born. We managed to get a camera two weeks later. I hate that the first pictures I have of her are fuzzy and dark and low-quality. The new camera came straight out of our savings--and it was worth EVERY PENNY. Good for you! We got a Nikon and we love it!

Kelly, you're so funny! I can just hear you saying all of that :) I think that's a great idea. I've learned that some of it is skill, but quite honestly a lot of it is the camera you have. So exciting!! Can't wait to see what you get!

I think Steph said it just right. A lot of it is skill and having an eye for it. But it isn't just about the camera. I've seen some pretty incredible pictures taken with a cheap point and shoot. DSLRs definitely offer higher quality images, but what ultimately puts you at an advantage is knowing how to optimize your camera's potential and not being afraid experiment. That applies to ANY camera, whether it be a point and shoot or a dSLR.

You don't have to have a top-of-the-line camera to get great shots but it does help to have one that takes them quick. I just have a Cannon Digi Rebel that the hubs got for me a few years back. I have NO CLUE how to use any setting that isn't an automatic one.

I know that the last time Nicki upgraded her camera she sold her older one on KSL. That could be a good place to pick up a decent camera. Just a thought.
