What's up with W.J.

A rare sight in W.J. (I thought this picture would be a little bigger!)

O.k. so this is my second winter spent in W.J. and I have yet to see a snow plow coming down my street. Now normally when it snows we get a couple of inches here and there and so I think "big deal" if our street doesn't get plowed it's really not that much snow. Well in the last two days I think was have gotten at least a foot and half of snow, and no snow plow. I drive a pretty good car in the snow, however, I am not sure how Brett in his little civic, is going to make it off our street. So what's the deal? Why no snow plows? I heard about cut backs because of the economy, but last I check I still pay the same amount of taxes, they haven't let us cutback. Then today for some reason we decided to go out, I know not the best idea, and not even the major streets are plowed. 7800 S. was horrible. We saw one snow plow and he wasn't even plowing he was putting down salt on a street that was covered in snow. I don't get it. I have lived in many cities over the valley and W.J. is by far the worst at plowing their streets. Oh boy I needed to get that off my chest. I feel better now!

Todd's parents were just saying the same thing to us tonight. They came out, but they said the roads were just awful! I sure do love the snow... when I get to stay in :)

Horrible roads further South in our neck of the woods too . . . my parents got stuck THREE times just trying to get off our street on Christmas. Then today we were driving on 5400 South, then Bangerter, and both looked like they hadn't been plowed in forever, so you just followed in the tracks of the person in front of you, and these are seriously busy streets! I don't want to drive again for days, I've been traumatized!

Same story in my area of WJ. Our road has never been plowed. We had high hopes, since our street leads to an elementary school, but I guess over break they don't care. We DID see some plows yesterday night on our way to my sisters--we followed them down 7000 S. and then turned with them on 2700 W. But yesterday Trevor got stuck--in our DRIVEWAY. Well, that's my own personal snow plow's fault. TREVOR!!

Ick! Every time I think it would be nice to live in Utah, I'll just pull up your post and it will bring me back to my senses!! Good luck with that mess!

Well, our neighborhood streets in our east side WJ neighborhood (where we got a lot less snow than the west side of this City) still haven't been plowed. The main collectors are fine.

Just be glad you aren't in a cul-de-sac. They don't plow them at all, ever. Thank goodness some of our neighbors have 4-wheelers with plows, otherwise we'd be totally stuck.
